With over two decades in business, Inner Beauty Clinic and Inner Salt Therapy in Galgorm has become a trusted haven for beauty and wellness. Co-owner Lynsay Smyth shares the story behind the clinic, the secret to long-lasting success, and the exciting future of their newest offering.
Take us back to the beginning – how did Inner Beauty Clinic start?
We first opened our doors in the early 2000s, and the business has evolved so much since then. Over the years, we’ve expanded our services, introduced new treatments, and even rebranded to Inner Beauty Clinic / Inner Salt Therapy to reflect our growth. Most recently, we added Salt Therapy, which is something I’m so excited about.
Tell us about your journey into the beauty industry.
Both Samantha and I trained at Northern Regional College Ballymena and have gone on to gain lots of additional qualifications over the years, from Bio Sculpture and Dermalogica to LVL Lashes. I’ve always been passionate about beauty and helping people feel good about themselves, and that’s never changed.
You’ve been in business for over two decades, which is a huge achievement. What’s the secret to that longevity?
A positive attitude and the ability to adapt. The beauty industry moves so quickly, and it can be hard to keep up with trends, but our focus has always been on listening to our clients and offering the services they want. That, I think, is why people keep coming back.
You and Samantha are clearly a great team. How do your strengths complement each other?
Everyone says not to mix business with family, but somehow it works for us! I’m the driving force behind the business, while Samantha keeps both of my feet on the ground. We balance each other perfectly.
You’ve partnered with some incredible beauty brands. What do you look for before bringing a product into the clinic?
We’ve always been proud to use and recommend the best. Dermalogica is at the heart of our skincare services, Bio Sculpture and The Gel Bottle for nails, and Lash Bomb for our LVL treatments. Every product or brand we bring in has to meet our standards, it needs to work, feel professional, and give our clients amazing results.
You offer such a wide range of treatments – is there one service clients can’t get enough of right now?
It really varies from client to client. Some are religious about their nail appointments every three to four weeks, while others come in for their monthly facials or body treatments. That’s the beauty of what we do, every client is unique, and we love tailoring the experience to them.
The testimonials speak for themselves, people feel cared for here. What does great customer service mean to you?
For me, great customer service is everything. Word of mouth has kept us so busy over the years, and that only happens when clients feel valued and looked after. We always strive to give people the best experience and service they deserve.
What are your hopes for the future of Inner Beauty Clinic and Inner Salt Therapy?
Our dream is for Inner Salt Therapy to really get the recognition it deserves. It’s such a unique treatment, and so many people don’t yet realise the incredible benefits. Beyond that, our focus will always be on providing the highest standard of treatments and giving our clients the best possible value.
