The Woman Behind Lalor Clinic

Founder Aisling Lalor shares how Lalor Clinic grew from a Carrickfergus practice into a Belfast-based destination for expert dentistry and facial aesthetics.

For readers discovering Lalor Clinic for the first time, can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to create the clinic?

I qualified as a dentist from Trinity College Dublin in 2000, and since then I have continuously expanded my knowledge and skills in general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, conscious sedation and facial aesthetics. I’ve worked in Dublin, Australia and across Northern Ireland, before finally opening a new clinic in Carrickfergus in 2018. Over five years, the clinic grew from zero patients to 2,000, before we merged with another clinic in Belfast to become Lalor Clinic in mid-2024.

Lalor Clinic began in Carrickfergus in 2018 and has now expanded into a new medical clinic on the Holywood Road. What does this next chapter mean to you and your team?

“Live Your Best” is our motto.

Expanding into Belfast has allowed us to offer a wider range of services, create opportunities to grow our talented team, and serve more patients across the region. For us, it is all about delivering freedom through self-confidence by treating the whole person with respect, while continuing to invest in new skills, new treatments and the latest equipment.

Your clinic offers both dentistry and non-surgical facial aesthetics. Why was it important to you to create a space where patients can access both under one roof?

At Lalor Clinic, we strive to serve the whole patient. Your dental health both reflects and affects your overall health, so it made sense to create a space where patients could access expert care across multiple areas in one trusted environment.

I have trained extensively in dental health, facial aesthetics, skin health, anatomy, fitness and resistance training, and even my own personal experiences through endurance challenges and extreme sports have shaped how I think about wellbeing. Our patients have grown to trust our experienced and professional team, and they regularly ask us about offering additional treatments because they enjoy returning to a place where they feel comfortable and confident in our abilities.

Lalor Clinic is accredited by both RQIA and Save Face. Why do those standards matter so much, particularly in the world of non-surgical aesthetics?

At Lalor Clinic, we believe in delivering exceptional standards and quality of care in a safe, professional, ethical and compliant environment.

Accreditation from both RQIA and Save Face is important because it provides patients with reassurance that we are working to the highest standards at all times. In an industry where trust matters so much, those accreditations are valuable evidence that we are committed to being a safe and reliable partner in our patients’ healthcare journey.

What is most rewarding for you about the work you do?

I feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to transform people’s lives.

That might mean helping someone find the courage to visit the dentist, giving them the confidence to smile for a photograph or speak without covering their mouth, diagnosing wider health issues through thorough assessments, or simply seeing a child run into the surgery and jump up onto the dental chair to show me their teeth.
