“I Didn’t Realise the Transformation Until I Saw the Old Photos”

Derry fitness professional Emma shares how her smile journey with Claire Hughes Dental not only transformed the appearance of her teeth, but improved her confidence and oral health too.

Working in the fitness industry, Emma understands the importance of confidence and presentation. While she never disliked her teeth, she always felt there was room for improvement. After years of composite bonding, she decided it was time to explore a more long-term solution with Claire Hughes Dental.

“I’m absolutely delighted with my teeth now,” Emma says. “I found an old photo recently from before treatment and honestly, I didn’t realise just how much they had changed until I saw the difference side by side.”

Initially, Emma had planned simply to replace her existing composite bonding. But after discussing her options with Claire, they decided to take a more comprehensive approach by first straightening her teeth using Invisalign.

“I worked really closely with Claire’s hygienist throughout the process and that made such a difference,” she says. “Before treatment, my gums would bleed when I brushed my teeth, but that has completely stopped now.”

Today, she says she genuinely enjoys attending her hygiene appointments and values the reassurance that comes with knowing her teeth are healthy as well as looking good.

“It’s one thing thinking your teeth look nice, but it’s another thing entirely knowing everything is healthy too. Hearing that everything looks good when you leave an appointment is such a great feeling.”

Emma believes the transformation has given her a new sense of confidence, particularly when smiling.

“I think your teeth really are the finishing touch,” she says. “If you can smile confidently, it changes how you feel about yourself.”

Although she never hated her teeth before treatment, she now realises just how much of a difference the changes have made.

“When I saw the old photos, I was genuinely shocked. At the time, I didn’t fully realise how much improvement there could be, but now there’s a massive difference.”

One thing Emma says she especially values is having treatment carried out by a trusted local clinic.

“There’s huge reassurance in knowing the team is always there if you need anything,” she says. “The aftercare is really important and I still continue with maintenance appointments now. Knowing that support is always available makes such a difference.”

Looking back, Emma says choosing Invisalign before replacing her composite bonding was absolutely the right decision.

“It may have been a slightly longer process, but the final result feels perfect because everything now fits together properly,” she says.

“The whole experience was just smooth from start to finish and the end result has honestly been unreal.”
