Building Confidence Through Expertise

Advanced Nurse Practitioner and aesthetics specialist Iwona, known as Yvonne, talks about her journey into aesthetic medicine, the importance of safety, and why natural-looking results remain at the heart of YTP Aesthetics.
Tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to launch YTP Aesthetics?
My passion for beauty began more than 15 years ago after moving from Poland to Northern Ireland. Makeup was becoming increasingly popular, and I quickly fell in love with the creativity behind it.
Building a successful career as a makeup artist led to exciting opportunities, including professional photoshoots and opening my first salon.
As my experience grew, I became fascinated by skin health. I realised that beautiful makeup starts with healthy, radiant skin, which inspired me to qualify in Beauty Therapy and develop a deeper understanding of advanced skincare.
Wanting to achieve even more for my clients led me into aesthetic medicine, where science, artistry and patient care come together.
More than seven years ago, I founded YTP Aesthetics with the goal of providing safe, advanced treatments that deliver natural-looking results and help people feel confident in their own skin.
Since then, I have completed more than 70 courses in aesthetic medicine, trained with leading practitioners from around the world and, more recently, graduated from Ulster University as a Registered Nurse.
Continuous learning remains a huge part of who I am and how I work.
You’re an Advanced Nurse Practitioner as well as an aesthetics specialist. How important is medical knowledge and safety in the treatments you offer?
Medical knowledge and patient safety are the foundation of everything we do.
Aesthetic treatments should never be viewed as purely cosmetic procedures. A thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology and overall health is essential for achieving safe, balanced and natural-looking results.
I work closely with pharmacists, prescribers and doctors to ensure the highest clinical standards are maintained at all times.
Careful assessment, informed decision-making and ongoing support are just as important as the treatment itself.
The industry continues to evolve, so I regularly attend advanced training courses, conferences and workshops to stay up to date with the latest research, techniques and safety protocols.
Education is a lifelong commitment and one that directly benefits every client who walks through our doors.
Which treatments are clients loving most right now?
Clients today are looking for subtle, long-lasting enhancements rather than dramatic changes.
Alongside YTP Aesthetics, we recently launched our sister business, YTP Skin & Beauty, where our Skin Specialist, Ada, focuses on advanced skin health and rejuvenation treatments.
We were delighted when the clinic was recognised with the NI Excellence Award for New Business of the Year just six months after opening.
At YTP Aesthetics, I specialise in facial balancing and offer treatments including skin boosters, mesotherapy, biostimulators, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and thread lifts.
One of the most popular treatments right now is Sculptra.
It works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production, helping restore volume, improve skin quality and create a firmer, more youthful appearance.
Clients love that the results develop gradually, leaving them looking refreshed rather than overdone.
You’re also an instructor in the industry. What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Teaching is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.
I see so much of my younger self in my students. I remember the excitement of starting out and the determination to learn as much as possible.
Helping practitioners build confidence and develop their skills is incredibly fulfilling.
I am passionate about sharing not only treatment techniques but also the importance of ethics, professionalism, patient safety and ongoing education.
Watching students progress and establish successful careers of their own is one of my proudest achievements.
When someone visits YTP Aesthetics for the first time, what experience do you want them to have?
I want every client to feel welcomed, listened to and completely confident in the care they receive.
Every consultation is tailored to the individual, with plenty of time dedicated to understanding their goals, explaining treatment options and answering questions.
Education is a key part of the process because I believe clients should always feel informed and empowered when making decisions.
One of the values I am most proud of is honesty. We are never afraid to say no if a treatment is not appropriate or in the client’s best interests.
Safety, wellbeing and achieving balanced, natural-looking results will always come first.
Many of our clients have been with us for years and continue to recommend us to family and friends.
Those long-term relationships mean more to me than any award because they are built on trust.
What can readers expect from your new column in Local Women?
I’m delighted to be joining Local Women and sharing my knowledge with readers each month.
The column will explore topics including skincare, aesthetic treatments, beauty trends, patient safety and overall wellbeing.
Having trained internationally, I also hope to bring insight into emerging European trends and innovations while sharing practical advice that readers can apply in their everyday lives.
Most importantly, I want the column to be honest, informative and approachable, helping women make confident, informed decisions while staying up to date with the latest developments in beauty and aesthetics.
