Why I’m Closing My Salon – For Now – And What’s Next

After 13 years in the hairdressing industry, and five of those spent running my own salon, I’ve come to understand that true beauty starts with connection.
Opening my salon was a dream come true — more than a business, it became a community. A place where people came not just for highlights or a trim, but for a moment of calm, care, and confidence. I’ve always felt incredibly grateful to work with clients who trust me with their hair and their stories.
Alongside running the salon, I’ve spent the last two years completing a Level 5 qualification in Hair and Beauty Management. It’s been intense and demanding, but also transformative. That course opened my eyes to a new side of this industry — not just the creative side, but also the business of leadership, mentoring, and education.
Taking a Pause to Grow
That’s why, this August, I’ll be temporarily closing the salon. Not as an ending, but as a bold step into something new.
I’m taking this time to travel, train, and immerse myself in the very best our industry has to offer. From cutting-edge techniques to global trends, I want to soak in all that inspiration — and bring it back to share with you.
This journey is about growth, not retreat. When I return, I’ll be opening a new kind of salon space: more intentional, more tailored, more collaborative. A quiet space, centred around one-on-one creative sessions where we can really listen, understand your vision, and make it happen.
What You Can Expect
When I come back, I’ll be offering a salon experience that goes far beyond the appointment. Every visit will feel bespoke, personal, and deeply considered.
