Buttercrane Centre are to mark International Women’s Day with an innovative free mall event open to ‘every woman’ and developed to support Women’s Aid Armagh Down.

The event, a Swinging Afternoon Tea, is a free high tea with live music from the Swingtime Sisters, hosted in the Costa Coffee Pod on Friday 7th March (International Women’s Day is Sat 8th March). Guests are invited to make a donation on booking to Women’s Aid Armagh Down.

Outreach staff from the charity will be on mall throughout the afternoon to raise awareness and funds for the charity which is dedicated to protecting women and children from domestic abuse.

Operations Manager Mary McDonnell said: “In the run up to International Women’s Day weekend, we wanted to host an event on mall and in doing so it provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the important work of Women’s Aid Armagh Down. We will have live music from the talented Swingtime Sisters throughout the afternoon and there will be a fundraising drive on mall across the day which we hope shoppers will support.”

Due to capacity, the event is strictly by booking only, and the booking link will open on Monday 24th February on Buttercrane Centre Facebook and Instagram channels.

You can book a table for two, to enjoy a special afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly on arrival, a box with sandwiches, fresh scones, and a sweet treat freshly prepared by T2 Bistro, accompanied by tea or coffee from Costa Coffee.  The Costa Pod will be specially decorated for the occasion.
