Chef Paula Turns Up the Heat on Local Food Tourism in Northern Ireland

North Coast chef and broadcaster Paula McIntyre is preparing to serve up expert insight at the Taste of Tourism Summit, taking place this month at the Culloden Estate and Spa. Organised by the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, the summit aims to spotlight the best of Northern Ireland’s food and hospitality sectors.
Paula, a beloved culinary figure known for her championing of local produce and sustainable practices, will be one of the event’s key speakers. The summit, held over two days (March 10–11), offers an exciting platform for industry professionals to explore current trends, connect with leaders, and celebrate the quality of Northern Irish food.
“I know there are great local suppliers and excellent ingredients which I will be using to create a seafood dinner menu to celebrate the best in local food,” said Paula.
Local Talent on the Menu
The 2025 summit reflects the growing demand for local sourcing and sustainable, forward-thinking practices in hospitality. The event will also feature acclaimed chef Tom Brown, known for his seasonal Cornish seafood menus, and Cameron O’Neal, a rising star in the evolving world of non-alcoholic beverages and cocktail trends.
Paula will curate and present a seafood dinner on March 10, showcasing Northern Ireland’s finest ingredients. The following day, she will lead a bridegate lunch, guiding attendees through a grazing table of artisan food, with the support of award-winning producers and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
More Than a Menu
Beyond the summit, Paula will also be part of the Reflect and Empower Women’s Retreat at Downhill Beach House in Castlerock on May 18. The event will focus on self-belief, confidence, and empowerment, offering hands-on cooking experiences alongside workshops and private dining events led by Paula herself.
“These types of events are about reconnecting with food, each other, and ourselves,” said Paula. “I can’t wait to cook, share stories, and celebrate with everyone.”
Hosted by broadcaster Sarah Travers, the retreat is designed to provide space for reflection, empowerment, and inspiration—with wellness activities, meals, and coastal views to match.
