COLUMN: ASK THE PENDULUM

Helen Lilley from The Sacred Tree in Derry guides us on how to use pendulums to take us on a journey of discovery.

Pendulums are often made of crystal, metal, or wood, and are suspended on a chain or string. When held still and asked a question, it is believed to respond by swinging in different directions, guided by the user’s subconscious mind.

Crystals on pendulums serve different purposes based on their unique healing properties and they do influence divination, healing or energy work so it’s important to connect to the crystal when choosing. So, when you choose your pendulum ask which direction is yes and watch what way the  pendulum swings, then ask which direction is no, then ask for maybe –  and now you are on your journey to learning about your chosen pendulum.

In spiritual practices, they are believed to be powerful tools.

Guidance – Pendulums are often used to seek answers to yes-or-no questions regarding personal decisions, relationships, or life paths.

Energy Healing – Therapists use pendulums to detect and balance chakra energy, helping to remove blockages and restore harmony.

Dowsing – Some believe pendulums can locate lost objects or determine energy imbalances in a space.

Meditation & Spiritual Growth – They can aid in deepening meditation practices and enhancing intuition.

They serve as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, offering clarity and insight to those who seek guidance. Their use in divination adds a mystical element to self-discovery. Their true power lies in the experience—trusting the process, embracing the unknown, and finding personal meaning in the pendulum’s movement and messages.

So, whether your pendulum swings like a mystical GPS or just wobbles in confusion, trust the process! Either way, keep your vibes high, your questions clear, and remember: the universe has a sense of humour too!

Blessings as always
