Give Your Old Glasses a New Purpose
Columnist
Brian McKeown from John Laverty Optometrists shares how you can help others see clearly, and get rewarded, by donating your old or unused glasses this month.
Do you have any old pairs of glasses that you no longer wear or need? Rather than throwing them away or leaving them to gather dust in a drawer, why not give them a second chance — and do some good in the process?
This month, we’re holding a Spectacles Appeal to support optical missions around the world. Simply bring any old glasses you’d like to donate, and we’ll package them up and send them to the Lions International Club, who sort and distribute them to people in need globally.
Your old frames could help someone regain clear sight and transform their daily life.
A little thank you
As a thank you for supporting this appeal, we’ll give you a £20 John Laverty Credit towards new frames or lenses when you donate your old glasses this month. It’s our way of saying thanks for helping us make a difference.
Just drop your old glasses into any of our practices this month — we’ll take care of the rest. Together, we can make a meaningful impact while giving your eyewear a new life.
Thanks in anticipation,
The John Laverty Team
