INTO 2025 WITH A NEW STRATEGY!

Miss Bee Haven, aka Emma Thompson, the founder of Bee Haven Bodycare, looks back on 2024 as a year of change and learning as a business owner.

If I had hair 2024 would have definitely been the year of pulling it out!

Hello, I’m Emma from Bee Haven Bodycare — you might know me as the ‘Bee Lady’ or ‘Miss Bee Haven,’ or perhaps this is our first introduction!

Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be the year of strategy for us. 2024 taught us invaluable lessons, despite being our toughest year yet. It wasn’t a decline in trade, but rather the challenge of spending on things that didn’t deliver the return we’d hoped for (some lessons are learned the hard way!) Managing stock levels also proved tricky, as running both our website and physical store from the same inventory meant constant manual counting and missed opportunities to sell more products.

Another setback was relying on outdated Excel spreadsheets to track product costs, which was increasingly inefficient in a world where ingredient and packaging prices fluctuate daily, leading to selling some products at low profit. But the silver lining? By the last quarter of 2024, we implemented a new POS system and streamlined our good-in program, automating cost tracking and inventory management.

Despite the stress, I’m grateful for the lessons learned. We’re ready for what’s ahead – more organised, efficient, and strategically focused than ever!
