How much do we adore the fact the cast of Derry Girls are as good friends in real life as they are on the hit television show?
Nicola Coughlan has posted an array of photographs on her Instagram page that hammer home the fact she is very different from the uptight Clare Devlin.
Not only is she pictured letting her hair down and enjoying a night out – a concept quite alien to Clare and her neurotic voice of reason, but the images have also revealed a reunion between Nicola and two other Derry Girls’ favourites.
Pictured together with beaming smiles are Nicola and former castmates, Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn, suggesting the trio have built a solid friendship thanks to their life-changing time on Derry Girls.
While the finale of the Channel 4 sitcom aired last year, it’s clear they still make time to catch up and have fun together – something we love, love, love.
Of course, Nicola has gone on to cement her reputation as a household name with her leading part in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton.
And it is even more heart-warming that she uses her profile to raise awareness and much-needed funds for some very worthy causes – most recently when she raffled off a bag signed by the Bridgerton cast in aid of Irish children’s hospice LauraLynn.
She also became a reluctant pin-up for body positivity when she asked her 1.3m Instagram followers to refrain from forwarding her online comments about her body.
While she subsequently explained that she would prefer to be known for her work as an actress rather than as a “body positive influencer”, we can’t help but love her for her down to earth approach to life.
