A Co Armagh woman and six NHS staff who supported her through her cancer journey will be making their catwalk debuts at a special fashion show later this month to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

When Lurgan woman Michelle McCaughley takes to the catwalk at the fundraising fashion show, she expects to find it rather daunting.

The former head of Marketing and Communications at Belfast Metropolitan College has never modelled before and admits she is nervous about her catwalk debut.

But Michelle is no stranger to facing her fears, and strutting her stuff in front of several hundred guests is nothing compared to what she has already been through.

And on the night, she will be supported by a group of very special models.

Her “sunflowers”, as she likes to call them, include Michelle’s own GP, three of her nurses from the Belfast Trust, a member of the Macmillan NI team who encouraged her to volunteer for the charity and a cancer peer whom she befriended on a trip to Lourdes.
