GET THE LOOK IN 2025

Sara Kostrzewa from House of Hair in Letterkenny brings you all the latest on the hair trends for 2025, how to improve your condition and the best blonde for you.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

There are several really easy ways to improve your hair and it’s often the simple things that are most effective:
✅ Wash your hair with the correct shampoo and conditioner – always use sulphate free for the best results.
✅ Once a week, swap out your conditioner for a hair masque for more moisture.
✅ Always dry your hair after you wash it. Do not go to sleep with damp hair as it is at its weakest when wet.
✅ If your hair is hard to brush, use a leave-in spray first.
✅ Never forget your heat protector.

REGULAR TRIMS

Regular trims are a major aspect of keeping your hair healthy. Dead ends need to go – even if you are growing your hair. Depending on how fast your hair grows, I would recommend every three months or so.

USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS

If you are struggling with picking out the right products for your hair all you need to do is book a free consultation. Get a stylist to talk you through how to use or when to use the correct products for your specific hair type. We will be more than happy to give you that advice.

TRENDING RIGHT NOW

A different hair trend for this winter has caught me by surprise!! Usually at this time of the year clients want to go darker for the winter but not this time. All I am hearing is, “I want to go lighter and lighter.” These days this is absolutely fine because of all the great bonding products out there. Now we are able to achieve this with very little damage. The tones that clients are asking for are a lot more ‘lived in’ and there has been a lot more warmth added, like beiges and creamy colours.
We are definitely stepping away from the ashier colour.

CHOOSING YOUR BLONDE

When it comes to choosing the right blonde, it is all about tone. Talk to your stylist about what you like, and she will recommend the best colour for you that will make your eyes pop and brighten your skin tone.

WINTER HAIR CARE

Winter hair care is just as important as summer hair care. The cold air can cause real damage so, I would definitely make sure that your hair is fully dry before leaving the house.

  • Leave-in sprays – are amazing for this time of the year. The one that we use is the Color Wow Money Mist. It can be used as a detangler that reduces breakage, moisturises, de-frizzes for smooth hair, doesn’t weigh the hair down and has heat protection and UV protection. It’s used on wet hair.
  • Heat protector – I always like to use extra protection when I’m styling the hair before drying, especially on my clients with extensions. I would use Alfaparf Thermal Protection on dry hair before curling or straightening.
  • Finishing touches – To finish off either a light spray of hairspray or a serum for shine like Alfaparf Cristalli Liquid.
